Cafeinosense

If you ever get to Merida, I highly recommend the restaurant Cafeinosense located on Calle 60 between 55 and 53.  The food is great and the owner is wonderful.  He also owns Easy-Way Car Rental right across the street which I also highly recommend.  Here’s an example of why……We stop in the car rental place to check on prices.  Andres,  the owner, happens to be in.  He gives us a great rate, better than we found elsewhere - all insurance included.  We talk for quite a while - he speaks great English.  He used to live in Cancun where his first Easy-Way Car Rental business is located.  His wife is from Cuba, he has a 3 year old son.  Cuba is where he likes to go when he vacations.  He likes that we have decided to vacation in this way in order to give our kids real exposure to other people and cultures.  We talk about the foods we’ve had and enjoyed while in Merida.  He invites us to check out his restaurant, Cafeinosense, directly across the street.  He orders several types of tacos for each of us to try, Jamaica juice for everyone and on top of it all, several deserts..…all of this as his guests.  The cost for it all was easily the same as a full days car rental if not more (and we were only renting for 2 days).    The food was fantastic!!!  We went back for dinner a few days later and will go again soon.  We also also went back to rent a car again for the trip to Holbox.
